Thunder Valley Casino Instameet
Thunder Valley Casino Instameet- Photography
Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, CA
The go to spot in the Sacramento area for gambling, good dining, and some of the best concerts. Their 13th Anniversary came with a surprise; an Instameet which included famed guests such as @Sacfarm2fork, @VisitSacramento and @Mymikescamera. Additionally, high Steaks restaurant provided food, and of course wine tasting which made it quite extravagant. If you thought this was going to be a regular Instameet, you were wrong.
This meet was different in many ways:
- Typically, photographers in Sacramento will meet up, shoot a sunset and discuss photography. A fun time no doubt but it can get repetitive.
- Thunder Valley incorporated a live band, artists painting, making the environment suitable for a wide array of guests.
- High Steaks Steakhouse prepared farm to fork food and wine
- Mike’s Camera gave out multiple prizes for pictures tagged #thundervalleyinstameet
- A surprise show performed by the Sacramento Synchronized Swim Team
Sac farm to fork:
They are all about fresh local food. Period. Reaching from El Dorado, Placer, Sutter, and Amador counties bringing the best quality of food right to your seat. This day was special because they are almost reaching 20 thousand followers on Instagram. I love that ordinary people, like everyone at Sac Farm to Fork can do amazing things in a community.
In Downtown Sacramento has been extremely helpful in bringing the photography community together by hosting or sponsoring events like these. They always have contests with gift cards for the selected winners. Being a part of events like this is important because it brings the photographers out, but it also allows for great networking to take place.
At their Sacramento Zoo event where I had the pleasure of meeting the owners, and was asked to begin their blog series on Aerial Photography and the Dji Phantom line. It goes to show how impactful meet ups like Thunder Valley’s Instameet can be. You never know who you’re standing next too!
Hosting also was Visit Sacramento. Their motto is “California Starts Here”. A complete guide to the city and all that makes the Capitol of California awesome. If you want to plan an amazing vacation, or even a day trip to Sacramento I highly recommend their website as a starting point. Even someone who has lived here their entire life, can see what’s new and exciting around the area. To see these organizations come together was a great experience, and I look forward to the events they put together this entire summer.
I had a great time meeting so many new people. The food was amazing thanks to Sac Farm to Fork. Thunder Valley really is truly becoming a hub for visitors in the Sacramento area. Mike’s Camera and everyone who helped make this possible the city truly appreciates you. Below is the Aerial Video I created. Using the Dji Phantom 4, I was able to capture everything with a bird’s eye view. Enjoy!
